Fabian D’Souza, MD, MSurg, FRCS, MBA

Fabian D’Souza is the Founder and President of Boston Strategic Partners, Inc. a boutique consultancy that is dedicated to meeting the needs of pharmaceuticals, biotech, medical device, diagnostic, and health care IT through five practice areas: business and clinical strategy, health economics and outcomes research, medical communications, regulatory affairs and financial advisory services. The firm has experienced double digit growth yearly since its inception in 2003.

A general and orthopedic surgeon by training, Fabian has led large engagements with not only above mentioned industry entities but also with other types of clients such as government and government agencies, payors and payor agencies such as benefits managers, private equity and venture capital firms. These engagements span strategy, health economics and medical communications. He has led the company through several recent innovations in health care including but not limited to oncology and immunology agents that require a companion diagnostic, novel methods of drug or nutrition administration, various applications of digital health ranging from telemedicine to integration of devices and systems in health care settings, unique models for pricing, access and reimbursement and tailoring medical communications to meet needs of an increasing complex stakeholder environment.

He is often invited to speak and or moderate panel discussions at various events both in the United States and internationally. His speaking engagements include: AdvaMed, Biophotonics, American Association of clinical chemistry, BIO-Europe, and the The Indus Entrepreneurs, Boston.

Fabian received his medical degree from the Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Medical College at the University of Poona, India (1988) with distinctions in microbiology, otorhinolaryngology and ophthalmology, and the University gold medal in general surgery. He also completed his Master’s degree in Orthopedic Surgery at the same institutions (1992), after which he was elected to the Royal College of Surgeons (General Surgery) in 1995. In 1998 he received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He has practiced in India, at the universities of Wuerzburg and Ulm-Stuttgart in Germany and in the Oxford and Sheffield regions in Europe before he came to USA.

In his spare time, he has provided voluntary medical services to various agencies such as Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity, reading for the blind in the UK, and supporting various NGOs involved in the rehabilitation of leprosy patients.
