- Where does the data come from?
- The data shown on these pages comes from one of the largest EHR providers in the US — Cerner Health Facts®. They download data from each institution on a nightly basis, de-identify it, and make it available for research purposes. We receive a refresh of the data every 6 months.
- It should be noted that the universe of participating institutions has grown and continues to grow over time due to various market forces including HITECH. Therefore, changes in patients and/or visits for any medications, procedures, etc. should be considered in light of the expanding universe of institutions contributing data and does not represent the change across the entire US market.
- This is nice, but what can I do with this data?
- The data contained on these pages is intended to give you a better sense of the size and scope of the dataset. There are many additional data elements beyond those shown here (e.g. microbiology test results, pain scores, blood pressure, temperature, ventilator setting, etc.).
