Uru holds a dual PhD in Science and Business and a Master of Biotechnology (Advanced) from the University of Queensland, Australia. Her research was on developing protein-based drug leads to chronic pain, cancers (breast and skin), skin infection and obesity. In the business arm of her PhD, she analyzed the evolution of the US biotech industry (500 public listed companies) using a novel business model framework that was supported by financial data and econometric modeling.
In last few years, Uru has worked as a management consultant and has become highly skilled in needs assessment, strategic planning, client relationships and project management. Her strength lies in complex data analysis that includes its visualization, interpretation, and presentation. She has worked with complex scientific (including pre-clinical and experimental) and financial data sets. In her spare time, Uru enjoys hiking, traveling and photography.
