Halit is a Consultant with BSP whose engagements primarily focus on the firm’s Business and Clinical Strategy, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, and Medical Communications segments. His recent projects include:

Business and Clinical Strategy:

  • Evaluated due diligence of an opioid use disorder treatment for a potential acquisition; assessed competitive landscape, reimbursement landscape, stakeholder opinions and analyzed physician prescription data to inform decision-making
  • Developed US market growth strategy to increase sales of a substance use disorder treatment in the hospital inpatient setting through primary and secondary research including literature review, stakeholder interviews, and EHR data analysis

Health Economics and Outcomes Research:

  • Developed comprehensive study reports on COPD, Asthma, Sepsis based on in-depth analysis of EHR data from 614 US hospitals; the reports consist of types of disease states, demographics, treatment, comorbidities, and complications
  • Generated evidence regarding the utility of Shock Index for the ICU patients, and pulmonary artery catheterization for the heart surgery patients through primary and secondary research for a large multinational medical device company
  • Reviewed clinical content of analyses such as medication switch patterns and diagnosis/medication inclusion criteria and advised project teams regarding methods as well as interpretation of findings

Medical Communications:

  • Produced a manuscript detailing Phase 1 clinical trials for a primary insomnia therapy using a phase-advance model to measure objective and patient-reported effects on sleep induction/maintenance
  • Produced two manuscripts to support key value messages across multiple products for a large multinational medical device company

Halit holds an MD from the Istanbul University as well as an MBA and an MPH from the Johns Hopkins University where he also earned certificates in Public Health Economics and Health Finance & Management. Halit knows how to approach issues from different stakeholders’ perspectives thanks to his 5+ years of domestic and international healthcare experience at multiple organizations including providers, payers, the World Health Organization and non-governmental organizations. In his spare time, he likes to travel, and cook recipes from various cuisines.
