Health Economics and Outcomes Research:

  • Evaluated nation-wide healthcare resource utilization trends and clinical outcomes such as mortality in fluid management of acute renal complications arising from decompensated cirrhosis and end-stage liver disease
  • Assessed real-world evidence to study the national economic impact of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis among cirrhotic patients’ fluid management strategies in view of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases guidelines

Medical Communications

  • Developed manuscripts reporting studies on device implementation for biotechnology companies
  • Developed publication and targeted journal recommendations for primary manuscripts in the medical device industry
  • Performed literature reviews and secondary research as needed for manuscript and journal submission support

Rahul holds an MD from the Medical University of Sofia and an MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Throughout his medical career, he gained research experience in the field of neonatology and evaluated immunomodulatory trends in term and preterm newborns. During his post-doctoral tenure at Hopkins, he was involved in a population-based cluster-randomized trial designed to address maternal/infant undernutrition in rural Bangladesh. Rahul’s interests in evaluating and tackling today’s complex issues in healthcare delivery with the use of real-world, evidence-based strategies led him to a healthcare consultant role with BSP. In his spare time, Rahul enjoys tennis, golf, snowboarding and Premier League football.
